Thermal Insulation Contracting began trading as a Sole Trader-ship in July 2001 with the founder Paul Oakley at the helm. The business traded under the name Oakley Industries initially. It quickly changed to a Company structure and increased its workforce up to ten people. Trading mostly in the field of industrial and Commercial insulation it soon became recognised by both the Tasmanian industrial sector and mechanical services operators as the leading insulation contracting Company within that state.
Oakley Industries PL continued trading in its Industrial and Commercial insulation field as well as adding a well-equipped metal fabrication facility to its North Hobart facility. From that time it has also become known not only for its continued presence as insulation contractors, but also as a supplier of quality sheet metal based projects to the building and hospitality industry with commercial kitchens and kitchen exhaust systems becoming a specialty.
In 2011 the Company rebranded to its current name Thermal Insulation Contracting (TIC) and welcomed long term employee Jared Daw as an equal Co-Director of the entity. Though Tasmanian based, at this time TIC looked to expand the business outside of Tasmania. TIC were awarded major contacts for BP Bitumen in both Brisbane and Townsville which were completed on time and on budget.
To present day, Thermal Insulation Contracting though Hobart based continues to be the market leader in its core field of Industrial and Commercial insulation.
